DRESS ATTIRE

At Top Gun, we take great pride in our appearance because we believe that presentation is everything. We ask that you begin your season with "Top Gun Pride" by wearing the following items to Athlete Evaluations:

Males - t-shirt, shorts, socks & sneakers, hair should be clean cut and face should be clean-shaven, absolutely no jewelry

Females - sports bra and/or t-shirt, shorts or leggings, socks & sneakers, hair in a high ponytail with a matching bow, absolutely no jewelry

If you'd like to purchase any Top Gun apparel or merchandise, we have plenty of quality items for both athletes and parents on sale in the office or on our online pro shop at www.tgproshop.com.

FLYERS

A flyer is a very prestigious yet demanding position on any team and especially here at Top Gun. It requires an extreme amount of focus, personality and often many additional hours of intense training. Any female athlete that would like to be considered as a POTENTIAL flyer during the season will be evaluated at the end of each Athlete Evaluation session. Our staff will base all stunts and baskets to ensure each athlete has the best opportunity to demonstrate their ability. Stunt blocks may be used for younger and/or less experienced athletes. Prior experience is a plus but not a necessity. Please keep in mind that being evaluated DOES NOT GUARANTEE an athlete will fly. Criteria to be considered will include weight, height, flexibility, balance, personality and poise. Being evaluated or not will neither eliminate nor guarantee an athlete's position as a flyer for the season.

TEAM PLACEMENTS

Team placements will be posted Monday, May 18th after 8:30pm.

We will be fielding teams in as many divisions as possible. Team size and level will be determined after Athlete Evaluations but is subject to change throughout the course of the season.

MANDATORY PARENT MEETINGS & FORMS

Parent Meetings will be held on Wednesday May 20nd and Thursday, May 21st. At this time Schedules, Competition and Annual Cost Packets will be given out

PRACTICES

Practices will begin on May 27th and 28th. All forms and deposits must be turned in by this time in order for athletes to participate.

LATE EVALUATIONS

Yes! It is possible to make a team later in the season through a late evaluation. However, spaces on teams may be very limited and we are often only looking for athletes of a specific age or skill level. In addition, the athlete may miss some of the training, team bonding experiences and memories that make each season so special and memorable. Monthly fees are also calculated annually and include competition expenses, so anyone starting late will still be required to pay those fees. So don’t put off being a part of the best all star cheer and dance program in the WORLD! Register now and get the full Top Gun experience!

05/12/2018 - FAQ (TOP GUN)

Frequently Asked Questions About Top Gun All Stars

Q:     How do I register for tryouts?
A:

Arrive at Top Gun All Stars at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled clinic and
fill out the required registration form, or download a registration form and mail it with payment to:

Top Gun All Stars - 13110 Metro Parkway #2, Ft. Myers, FL 33966

Q: What is the annual cost and how is it paid?
A:

Annual cost runs between $2,800.00 - $3,300.00 and is paid in 11 monthly installments. Our mini/tiny teams run between $1,200 - $1,500. (Several fundraising and sponsorship opportunities are available to offset these costs).

Q: What does the annual cost include?
A:

Everything the cheerleader needs for the year: monthly fees, uniforms, shoes, unlimited tumbling classes, competition registrations, accessories, etc. (competition travel cost is not included)

Q: How many competitions do you attend; how far do you travel; how much school is missed?
A:

We attend 3-4 overnight competitions and 3-4 one-day/local competitions starting in December. Teams will travel to Orlando, Tampa, Daytona Beach, Miami, Atlanta and other possible destinations.

Q: How often do you practice?
A:

All teams practice one weekday (M/W or T/TH) for 2 hours. This will allow time during the week for free unlimited tumbling classes.

Q: I am going on vacation during the summer, should I wait until I get back to start?
A:

Our summer schedule is flexible when it comes to attendance. We expect a cheerleader to attend practice if they are in town. Since most of our skill building is done over the summer the more the child attends practice the more they will progress. Tuition costs are calculated annually, so anyone starting after the summer will still pay the full tuition.

Q: Cheerleading has become a dangerous sport, so what experience do your coaches have?
A:

The Top Gun All Star staff has been involved with all-star cheerleading for over 23 years. You will not find a more qualified group of coaches in the nation. Our staff is fully certified by the USASF in the latest safety and spotting techniques, and you can be assured that your child is in the best hands possible when it comes to cheerleading and gymnastics instruction.

Q: What cheerleading/gymnastics experience must a person have in order to make a team?
A:

There are no requirements for evaluations; everyone that goes through the evaluation process will make a Top Gun team. Top Gun takes great pride in improving the talent level of each individual within the organization.

Everyone has to start somewhere, so why not start with the best!
